Concentrated Solar Power Thermal Energy Storage Materials

Abstract

Concentrating solar energy (CSP) refers to converting solar energy into heat energy through reflection and absorption, so that we can use it. This is one of the main ways to use solar energy at present [1]. The thermal energy storage (TES) material in CSP system can solve the problem that renewable energy sometimes does not exist and can also improve economic benefits. At present, most of the reviews on TES materials only focus on a single category or specific technology, lacking comprehensive analysis. This paper summarizes the latest progress of three kinds of TES materials-sensible heat storage, latent heat storage and thermochemical storage, and analyzes their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, which provides reference for future technical development.
